At the Birthing Spa we know the importance of labor choice. Not every woman wants a traditional delivery by a doctor and a swarm of other medical staff. For low-risk pregnancies women may choose to receive midwifery care and delivery.
According to the American College of Nurse Midwives, some benefits of receiving midwifery care include decreased risk of needing a cesarean and reduced rates of labor induction and augmentation, reduced use of regional anesthesia, decreased infant mortality rates, decreased risk of preterm birth, decreased third and fourth degree perineal tears, lower costs for both clients and insurers, increased chances of having a positive start to breastfeeding and increased satisfaction with quality of care. Labor & Birth Midwife Services
Certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) specialize in family-centered care with an emphasis in pre- and postnatal support. They are available 24/7.
At the Birthing Spa we support those who choose to use midwifery services to guide them through the healthy, normal process of pregnancy and birth. Rest assured that even with this choice, extra medical intervention can be immediately available when necessary. Our midwife birthing services include:
